Happy New Year 2010!!

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

I can’t believe that it is already 2010.  We are working hard on our Expo 2010 Doll show already.  I have put up the Our Villa Dolls  Dollmaker’s Challenge Doll.  This year’ choice is Little Susi sculpted by John Nisson.  She goes on either a 12″ porcelain or composition body.  Our theme is “It’s a Small World After All”, so put on your thinking caps and get started creating.  You could think Disney character, International costumes, or little dolls.  The possibilities are endless.  This will be our 10th year Anniversary, and we have lots of surprises in store.

I can’t believe that September is already here.  You know what that means–The Doll Show is right around the corner.  Our sales room is getting full, although we still have a couple of spaces still  available.  We have a lot of great classes available, so sign up now to make sure you get the class you want.  I hope that everyone is working on a doll or china painting project to enter in our competition.  It is always so much fun to see what everyone has been working on this past year.  If you can help at the show, let me know.  The more the merrier.  I had better get back to work.  Talk to you or see you soon.

Grapevine Doll Show

Sunday, July 5th, 2009

Clyde and I got back from the Grapevine Doll Show and had a wonderful time.  Karen and Glenda put on a great show.  There were all kinds of new products and ideas.  It was very inspiring.  Everyone was in a great mood, customers and vendors alike.  I was able to talk to the vendors about our show in September and even got some contracts signed.  I had my necessaire trunk class and everyone seemed to enjoy it.  I even bought some paper dolls and had them signed by the author and artist himself–Tom Tierney.  What a treat to meet him!!  I hope everyone is having a fun 4th.

Talk to you soon,

Jody

I hope that everyone will be having a wonderful Easter.  I have been working hard on our show stuff.  We now are listing classes on the website.  I am also working on getting items together for an on-line store to add as well.  I need Sam to help me with the shopping cart, etc., so that will have to wait until he is out of college for the summer.  I also just got the info.  for two shows coming up this Fall.  The Doll Artisan Guild International Convention in Hamilton, N.Y., Oct. 22-24.  For more info., or to sign up, go to www.dollartisanguild.org .  The second show is Steve and Fumiko Plumlee’s show Oct. 16-17 at Mystic Farms.  See all their info. at www.mysticmolds.com.

If you have a show you are attending or a class that’s happening, let me know.  If we all stick together we can make it.  Dollmakers Unite!!

That’s all for now,
